Kakukei: handmade sculptural stoneware
The Kakukei collection explores the meeting of geometry and living material. Each piece is wheel-thrown and hand-carved in my pottery studio in Colmar, Alsace, France, revealing irregular, almost pentagonal facets.
Raw stoneware alternates with glaze. Oxides and reduction gas firing bring out mineral nuances in the spirit of wabi-sabi, where subtle variations are part of each object's character.
